Population control of street animals is not just about numbers—it's about public health, harmony, and animal welfare. The only proven, humane method to stabilize the population of community animals is Animal Birth Control (ABC), also known as CNVR (Catch, Neuter, Vaccinate, Release).
At Angels for Animals, we are committed to achieving 90% sterilization within defined areas over the next 7–10 years, ensuring sustainable change that communities can see and feel.
Unlike the ad hoc methods historically used in Goa, we are bringing in a data-driven, targeted approach to ABC, in partnership with Humane Society International (HSI)—the world’s largest animal welfare organization.
Step 1: Identify & Survey
A defined area is surveyed in advance
Animal numbers are mapped and targets are set
Step 2: Community-Centered Capture
Local feeders and community members are engaged
Dogs are caught using humane methods like nets, trap cages, and hand catching wherever possible.
Step 5: Post-Operative Care
Animals are monitored for 5–6 days post-surgery
Only when fully healed they are marked and ready for release
Step 6: Safe Return
We use a custom ABC app with real-time photos and GPS tracking
Each animal must be released within 50 meters of its pickup location
Any deviation triggers an alert, ensuring ethical standards are upheld
